My Development and Experience

I have been making websites for around 8 years now, of varying quality I might add. I have had experience with large custom coded php sites, php frameworks, CakePHP and Code Ignitor, and my current favorites OSCMS (open source content management systems), especially Drupal.

I also have a respect and admiration of databases, especially the way the they enable the organisation of data into regulated formats. However, I am currently very interested in the utilisation of noSQL databases, such as MongoDB, and they way the they may well be implemented int the coming few years to replace MySql as the database backend in a large proportion of php installations.

Outside of my work, currently for Forward Press, it enjoy doing further web development/server testing at home, having around 12 virtual machines installed on my home PC, including Gentoo, Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS, Debian, Turnkey and Win2003/2008 (neither of which I am particuarly happy with using but as a large proportion of business machines/IT technicians use windows machines, I don't want to exclude! I also enjoy participating in local groups DrupalCambs and Net2Camb and I contribute to forums and suchlike on Ubercart and Drupal where I can.

But in the famous words of Spinal Tap's Marti De Bergi, "Enough of my yakking. Lets Boogie!"
