About Me
As a freelance Web Developer, I have worked largely within PHP including synchronization with databases, mainly MySql, across both a WAMP and LAMP platform. I have worked extensively within the Drupal and Joomla open-source content management systems including module extensions and third party services, I am active within the Drupal UK and Drupal Ubercart community and DrupalCambs group. My freelance work has involved careful liaison with client both with regards to technology and graphic design. I am responsible for providing quotations and estimates alongside ensuring work is both completed within deadlines, but also meeting customers specifications.
Whilst at university, I have completed modules utilizing open source software and frameworks to complete set tasks. I development of a web based school governance system in collaboration with Leeds Metropolitan University and various Leeds local schools using the Joomla open source framework alongside a PHP/MySql system. My research dissertation is: E-Governor: An analysis of the implementation of open source content management systems on small businesses.
I have also undertaken research into the application and limitations of network management software with regards to autonomous bandwidth utilization.
In my spare time, I am a keen musician and sports player. I enjoy playing rugby and cricket and also playing music at different venues around the UK. I also perform within a soul covers band and perform solo guitar and sing a variety of jazz, blues and folk music.
